The Westland Industrial Heritage Park offers a range of exhibitions and experiences for all ages. What’s currently live is listed below, though we have a constant pipeline of exciting new projects developing as exhibitions, including a Boat Shed, Steam Shed, Fire Museum, Tracks & Wheels and an Agricultural Shed. So watch this space!

What you can see

    Exhibitions

Big Engine Shed

See and hear some of our restored, historic industrial machines, with a unique sound and light show.

Creative Heritage Hub

This area showcases cottage industries and heritage crafts – sewing machines, spinning wheels, weaving looms, blade shears, drum carders….. and a hobby horse or two that you can ride!

Look for the green circles to see what machines you can touch and have a go on.

The Livery

See and experience the earliest form of travel on the West Coast – a shedload of whips, chains, stagecoaches, saddles, carts and stories. The last coach over the Arthur's Pass, the Glacier Great Coach, gigs and carts; much more when you visit!
